IEE Coordinates Grant to Bring 31 Electric Vehicles and Charging Stations to Ohio State

The IEE partnered with The Ohio Department of Transportation and eight other Ohio entities on  a federal grant designed to provide critical infrastructure to jumpstart electrifying Ohio’s transportation system.  If funded, 136 electric vehicles along with more than 800 charging stations will be deployed throughout the state. OSU will receive funding for 31 vehicles for the Columbus, Newark, Marion, Lima and Wooster campuses.  In addition, this grant will feed data from all 136 vehicles into OSU’s SMART@CAR program which is focused on research needs for intelligent charging systems.  In addition OSU will research the social and behavioral issues associated with a transition to electrification.
