Ohio State University accepts Paw of Approval
On Friday, March 22, Polar Bears International (PBI) presented The Ohio State University with a Paw of Approval Award at a ceremony held at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. PBI is an organization dedicated to saving polar bears and their sea ice habitat. PBI’s Paw of Approval program was designed for Arctic Ambassador Centers to recognize local businesses, organizations, and institutions that are reducing their carbon footprint.
The Paw of Approval recognizes the university’s commitment and contribution to sustainability efforts across campus. Among the efforts acknowledged with this award were the Zero Waste initiative at Ohio Stadium, the geothermal well system, LEED certification building requirements, Byrd Polar Research Center research programs, and additional contributions led by the Office of Energy and the Environment. Aparna Dial accepted the award on behalf of the university.
