EPA Recognizes Ohio State Among Nation’s Leading Green Power Purchasers

The Ohio State University has increased its ranking to No. 2 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA's) Top 20 College & University list of the largest green power purchasers.
The university moved up from its previous spot at No. 13 largely due to its direct purchase of 50 megawatts of wind energy, which is enough wind power to meet approximately 25 percent of the Columbus campus' current electricity use. Ohio State is buying the wind power from Blue Creek Wind Farm LLC, which is operated by Iberdrola Renewables LLC.
